ALSO READ: What You Should Know about Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams does not yet have some features supported by Skype for Business Online. Microsoft is aware of this situation and is working to resolve it. Read below the missing features.
- Dynamic 911. A feature of the Microsoft Teams telephone system, Dynamic E911 automatically uses the current position of the caller to route to a PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) call center managed by the local government. Dynamic E911 will be delivered to teams for the United States by the end of this calendar year.
- Shorter storage periods. The new retention period options will allow customers to limit channel and chat retention periods to a minimum of 1 day and ensure that when data is deleted they are removed from all permanent storage locations in the Team service. Shorter storage periods will be available in Teams by the end of this calendar year.
- Team and Skype Consumer Interop. The interoperability between Team and Skype Consumer will allow users of the two services to communicate using both chat and call. Team and Skype Consumer Interop will be available in Team in the first quarter of the solar year 2020.
- Contact Center integration and compliance registration. At the beginning of this month at Inspire, we announced Teams’ partnerships with Five9, Genesys and NICE to enable Contact Center solutions and with ASC, NICE and Verint to provide compliance registration. We are also collaborating with other Skype for Business online certified partners to bring other Contact Center and compliance registration solutions to the market.
