Adedotun Sulaiman

Adedotun Sulaiman

Adedotun Sulaiman is a renowned and retired management consultant and expert in business and organisation strategy. He is a distinguished alumnus of the University of Lagos from where he graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Business Administration in 1975 and of the Harvard Business School where he did the PMD (59) in 1990.
He started his career life as a diplomat, with a brief stint at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington DC as a consular officer from late 1976 to early 1978. In late 1978, he joined the Management Information Consulting Division of Arthur Andersen & Co. [later Andersen Consulting, now Accenture]. He rose rapidly through the ranks to become a Local Partner in 1984 and a Partner in the Worldwide Firm in 1989.
He succeeded the founding Managing Partner of Arthur Andersen & Co. in 1993 and remained Country Managing Partner of both Arthur Andersen, the Audit and Tax practice, and Andersen Consulting during what was the most turbulent years in the Andersen firms until 1999 when he relinquished the headship of Arthur Andersen to focus exclusively as Country Managing Director of Andersen Consulting [now Accenture] upon the breakup of the Arthur Andersen Worldwide Organization. He retired as Country Managing Director of Accenture in 2005 and continued as Chairman until 2010.
Mr. Sulaiman sits on or chairs the boards of many companies in several sectors and is an active investor focusing his investing activities on startups, where he mentors and handholds young entrepreneurs. He also invests, co-invests and works closely with all major Private Equity firms active in Nigeria including Actis, African Capital Alliance and Adlevo.

Olanike Jagun

Olanike Jagun is a versatile innovative leader with over 20 years of experience in a number of international organizations spanning ICT, healthcare, insurance, Pharmaceutical and Telecoms. Olanike currently has the responsibility for developing and implementing strategic channel direction in MTN retail outlets pan Nigeria. She is an inventive leader who precipitates decision-making through sound business insights and analysis that drives organic growth within these retail channels. She has in-depth experience in various facets of corporate business, from both a strategic and operational perspective. She has been instrumental in delivering turnarounds in two corporate transformations. Olanike brings to the Board international business experience and executive leadership experience in operations, technology, talent management, mergers and acquisitions and governance.

Olanike volunteers as a business consultant for the Stanford Seed Transformation program for SME’s in West Africa and serves as a mentor to various technology/non-technology-enabled start-ups through her membership of the Lagos Angel Network and Rising Tide Africa (A women’s movement initiated to increase women’s participation in angel investing, education and cross boarder investments).

Her educational background includes a postgraduate Degree in Business System analysis from City, University of London her undergraduate degree is BSC in Computing and Electronics from the University of Staffordshire in the UK.


Mr Muhtar Bakare

Mr Muhtar Bakare attended Kings College, Lagos and then went on to obtain a B.Sc. (1988) and an M.Sc. (1991) in Architecture, from Obafemi Awolowo University. He completed the Senior Executive Program for Africa (SEPA) at Harvard University Business School and Wits University Business School in 2003. His professional career span 28 years with over 20 years in executive and senior leadership roles.

He started out in the banking industry at Citibank Nigeria in 1991 as a Management Associate, during which he completed an 18-month Executive Training program. He then went on to manage the import and export processing of the bank in the Trade Services Department and later joined the Commercial Banking Group where he rose to the level of Assistant General Manager, leading the Expanded Target Market Unit. In this role, he supervised the origination, sale and management of credit, through product programs, to small, growing businesses. He left Citibank in 2002, to serve as an Executive Director at Trust Bank of Africa (Now Sterling Bank) where he led the Sales and Marketing Groups and helped to attract fresh capital, new talent and provided strategic executive leadership that put the bank on a path to transformation.

In 2004, he founded the independent publishing company, Kachifo Limited and its flagship imprint Farafina. Kachifo has since published some of the leading voices in contemporary African literature. He was one of the Executive Producers of the movie Half of A Yellow Sun which was released in 2013. Farafina Educational’s Social Studies for Primary Schools is used in over 250 leading private schools across the country.

Between 2007 and 2008, Mr Bakare assisted in the creation of the editorial department of trailblazing Nigerian Newspaper 234NEXT. He was Editorial Director responsible for the recruitment, training and development of all the journalists employed at inception. He was responsible for setting, benchmarking and maintaining the minimum standard of quality required for the contents of the newspaper. He was also the Editor of the Editorial Pages, at some point, responsible for the commissioning and production of all the opinion and editorial content of the newspaper.

Between 2012 and 2016, he was Managing Director of Pearson Education Publishing Limited, the Nigerian operations of the leading education services provider in the world. In this role, he canvassed passionately for investment in the direct delivery of basic, vocational and tertiary education in Nigeria. Pearson has since divested from Nigeria.

Mr Bakare currently sits on the board of emerging businesses in publishing, financial services, technology, real estate and educational services. Mr Bakare is particularly interested in businesses operating at the intersection of Financial Services, Technology and Education.

He has been married for 20 years and has 2 children.

Globally, the OLX brand is one of the world’s leading free, online classifieds platforms with 123 million unique users across 107 countries, generating traffic of over 1.8 billion monthly page views or 60 million per day. Its mobile app has been downloaded more than 14 million times. OLX, which has quickly become the dominant player in emerging markets offers a free, fast and hyper-local way for people to buy, sell or exchange used goods and services, by simply posting a free ad on the website. In Africa, the company currently has operations in Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya. Lola is responsible for driving all elements of the business including Business Development, Product Localization, Marketing and other relevant functions.

Prior to joining OLX, Lola spent 4 years at Google leading various Product Partnerships efforts across EMEA and Emerging Markets. Lola was one of the earliest Googlers in Sub-Saharan Africa when the technology company began its operations in the region. Lola shaped the regional strategy, executed on several core initiatives and led business development efforts with key SSA partners including the telcos, OEMs, digital content providers and local entrepreneurs.

Lola brings significant leadership experience in business development, entrepreneurship, operational transformation and product development across several industries including technology and financial services. In addition to Africa, Lola has substantial international working experience in North America, Europe, and Asia. She also worked in the Chicago office of McKinsey & Company, where she spent time advising senior executives on extensive strategic management topics. Lola holds a Doctorate degree in Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Virginia.

Dele is currently co-founder and Director/CEO of Descasio Ltd, a cloud computing and business transformation organization in Nigeria and Ghana. He has led Descasio from its start-up days into a successful cloud computing firm that is currently partnered with the top 4 global OEM cloud providers, Google, Microsoft, AWS and IBM.

Dele believes in a healthy lifestyle and promotes a work-life balance. He is an avid cyclist, runner and photographer.

Femi olugbesan

Femi Olugbesan

Femi is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Descasio Ltd. ?He is primarily responsible for driving the?technology vision of the organization. ?He also ensures the development of the right technology solutions for the client,?providing leadership for strategic planning and delivery of all business systems to align the technology and the client’s business objectives. Additional responsibilities include product development and budget management while on projects.

Femi has a Bachelors degree in computer science from the University of Massachusetts, USA and has obtained several industry-specific certifications including, Microsoft MCSE, Checkpoint CCSA & CCSE, Cisco CCNA, Citrix CCA, IBM e(logo)server x-Series Technical Principles & Problem Determination,?VMware VCP ESX 2.5,?CBCI – Business continuity expert,  Google deployment and sales specialist.
