What is Azure AD and Benefits of Azure Active Directory

Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) is Microsoft’s multi-tenant, cloud-based directory, and identity management service. Azure AD incorporates core directory services, application access management, and identity protection in a single solution, offering a standards-based platform which enables developers to deliver access control to their apps, based on centralized policy and rules.

Azure Active Directory - Azure AD

Benefits of Azure Azure Active Director AD

Azure AD helps you to:

  • Create and manage a single identity for each user across your entire enterprise, keeping users, groups, and devices in sync with Azure AD Connect.
  • Provide single sign-on access to your apps, including thousands of pre-integrated SaaS apps, and to provide more secure remote access to on-premises SaaS applications using the Azure AD Application Proxy.
  • Allow application access security by enforcing rules-based Multi-Factor Authentication policies for both on-premises and cloud apps.
  • Improve user productivity with self-service password reset, and group and application access requests using the MyApps portal.
  • Take advantage of the high-availability and reliability of a worldwide, enterprise-grade, cloud-based identity and access management solution.

Who uses Azure AD

An Azure AD is intended for IT admins, app developers, and for users of Office 365, Azure, or Dynamics CRM Online.

  • IT admins. The Azure AD provides a more secure solution for your organization through the use of stronger identity management and single sign-on (SSO) access to thousands of cloud-based SaaS apps and on-premises apps. Through these apps, you’ll also get cloud-based app security, seamless access, enhanced collaboration, and automation of the identity lifecycle for your users, helping to increase both security and compliance. Additionally, with Azure AD Connect, you can integrate Azure AD with an existing Windows Server Active Directory, letting your organization use your existing on-premises identity investments to manage cloud-based SaaS app access.
  • For app developers. Azure AD helps you focus on building your apps by providing integration with an identity management solution that’s used by millions of organizations around the world.
  • For Office 365, Azure, or Dynamics CRM Online customers. You’re already using Azure AD. Each Office 365, Azure, and Dynamics CRM Online tenant is actually an Azure AD tenant, letting you immediately start to manage your user-access to your integrated cloud apps.

10+1 Reasons Why Your Business Needs G Suite for Increased Productivity

There are a lot of companies who still use the free, personal Gmail account, or perhaps the webmail that comes with a web hosting package when hosting the company website. Most companies use personal Gmail (like abcgroup@gmail.com) to manage part of the business (like the Calendar to invite people to meetings, or the Drive to share files with your contacts).

If you want to grow your business you must also think about giving a more professional look to the emails you send from your company, to invite people to an appointment or to share with them a file. It will increase your level of credibility and enhance client perception of your company if you have an to email under your company domain name which will make it look like this: abcgroup@descas.xyz, abc@descas.xyz or 123@descas.xyz

According to GoDaddy, people are more like to remember your domain name and email. Also, people are more likely to do business with someone who sends emails with domains associated with the company than with people who seem to have the normal Gmail or yahoo mail.

Do you know that it is possible to have email addresses with the name of your company domain, preserving all the functionality of Google? The service is called G Suite.

ALSO READ: What Is G Suite and Why Is It Important for Your Business

If you switch to G suite, you do not need any training for anyone who used a gmail.com address at least once because everything will be very familiar.

The huge advantage of a service that works great is not limited to mail (and, most likely, Gmail is the best mail service out there … so why not take it for your business?) But includes Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Maps, Google Hangout and much more.

So if you already own a domain and host your mail on webmail or other similar services, and then use @gmail for the functions like Calendar invitation, file sharing and more… maybe it is time to move your business to G Suite for Increased productivity and collaboration with teammates.

G Suite for Increased Productivity

10+1 Reasons Why Your Business Needs G Suite for Increased Productivity

Email account

Your company has the email accounts of all employees. Your employees are not owners of their account. What happens if someone leaves your company to work as a competitor or to start a business that competes with you and are the owners of their mailbox and all associated addresses? Look … that’s exactly what happens if you have employees who use private mail accounts for work, such as Gmail, even if it were just to invite other people to share files or an event.

As a G Suite administrator, if someone leaves the company, you can immediately change the password and redirect incoming emails to another email account.

File properties

With G Suite, all documents, sheets, presentations created by employees are owned by the company.
Remember that Google Drive is an alternative backup to services like Box or DropBox. You can create a business process that requires employees to work on folders shared with Google Drive.
If you fire an employee, you have access to all his files.

Sharing documents

It’s easier to share documents with your team, everyone has a G Suite account. For example, if everyone has access to Google Docs, it only takes one click.

Group email addresses

First, you can create a group email address, allmystaff@descas.xyz. You can easily target more emails of this kind, for example, to manage customer support. No, there is no additional cost to create group email addresses. And you can create as many as you want.

Multiple alias emails

You can have as many aliases on your G Suite. My username on G Suite you can have ik.onu@descas.xyz But if someone sends me an email to ikechukwu@descas.xyz. I’ll get the mail. This is because ikechukwu@descas.xyz is an alias of my account. This is particularly important for role accounts such as sales@abc.com, info@abc.com, branch1@abc.com
You can have as many aliases as you want to be associated with an email box.

You can use Outlook as an email program

For all users who use Outlook, Google provides Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook

More storage space

With a free Gmail account, you have 15 GB of disk space. For Gsuite Basic (which costs €4 per month per account) space already goes to 30 GB per user. More disk space for storing files and documents.

Extra security with 2-step verification

G Suite has an important security option that the administrator can perform for all users. It is known as “2-step verification” (2-Steps verification). It means that if you connect to G Suite from an unknown computer, never used before, you are sent a code via message to verify that you really are the owner of the account (then password + code sent by SMS to the phone associated with your account)

2-step authentication is especially important if you decide to use Google Drive as a standard backup for your company’s computers (PCs or Macs).

Integration with the CRM

A corporate CRM is a necessary step for the growth of your company. One of the best CRMs in circulation is also free: HubSpot CRM. G Suite integrates perfectly with both the Calendar and the email. You can upload emails to CRM when you send them from G Suite and keep track of appointments set with your contacts. You can also create contacts directly from G Suite and update their information.

A single account to access all business applications

Users can use G Suite access to access other applications reserved for companies, such as HubSpot CRM, Slack, Salesforce, DocuSign, PandaDoc…

A branded user interface

Applications, like Gmail, have the company logo instead of the Gmail logo.

There are a lot of advantages in switching to G Suite. This is Why G Suite Might Be a Good Move for Your Business.

Microsoft Partners with Huawei to Accelerate Hybrid Cloud Deployment

At Huawei Connect 2018, Microsoft and Huawei announced that they’ve partnered in order to deliver an “all-flash” Azure Stack solution that allows enterprises to accelerate hybrid cloud services, while also bringing better data reliability. Microsoft said the partnership will benefit the firms’ mutual customers and that it is looking to work with other partners to “thrive the development of the cloud ecosystem.”

For those out-of-the-loop, Azure Stack is an extension of the Microsoft Azure public cloud that allows customers to deploy Azure cloud services to their own data centres, helping to address concerns surrounding data security and latency. Azure Stack is designed to make it easy for customers to deploy, operate, and manage cloud applications.

In its announcement, Huawei said:

Built upon Azure Stack, the Huawei-Microsoft all-flash Azure Stack solution builds more efficient data computing and storage capabilities for customers, helping them accelerate digital transformation and meet fast-growing business requirements.

Google Cloud Expands into Europe and Connects the Two Sides of the Atlantic

The two-day Google Cloud Next 2018 London has welcomed more than 8,000 developers, customers and partners, making it the biggest Google Cloud event in Europe to date.

All the main sectors in Europe, the Middle East and Africa area are experiencing, Google underlines, a strong impulse. In these regions, more and more companies are looking to the cloud to transform the way they operate.

Media companies, such as Sky, use the cloud to achieve scalability, expand digital offerings and offer tailor-made experiences. Dealers like Carrefour to create new shopping experiences and to innovate the way to meet customers. Gaming companies, such as Ubisoft, are building open source projects that improve academic research.

All multinational companies need new ways of collaboration. Companies like Fiat Chrysler Automobiles use G Suite to connect teams scattered across many different regions.

Google Cloud and artificial intelligence in Europe

In the last 18 months, Google has launched four new Cloud regions, including Finland, Germany, London and the Netherlands.

He also announced a new region in Zurich. The company continues to expand its infrastructure on this side of the Atlantic to provide customers with the speed, capacity and reliability they need.

Google Cloud Trans Atlantic

Big G continues investments in submarine cables such as the Havfrue cable linking the United States, Ireland and Denmark. And like the Dunant cable that connects the US east coast to the French Atlantic coast. Thanks to these, Google Cloud customers can use the same network infrastructure that powers Google services.

Google DeepMind has recently announced a new artificial intelligence laboratory in Paris. That increases the growing presence in the region and integrates with the Advanced Solutions Lab in Dublin. In the latter, companies can learn directly from Google Cloud ML engineers. And they can develop the skills necessary to create and distribute large-scale machine learning.

Google is training developers in over 20 European countries through OnBoard events and offers online training programs. Google has also announced the beta version of the third-generation liquid-cooled TPU clouds today. These make computational intensive machine learning faster and more accessible to businesses around the world.

The company also continues to invest in partnerships throughout the EMEA region. Earlier this year, he announced a global partnership with Atos to offer hybrid cloud, machine learning and collaboration solutions to enterprise customers.

The commitment with key system integrators, including Deloitte and Accenture, and strategic partners such as SAP, has also increased. Over 1,000 people registered for the 2018 Summit Partner, which took place before the Next.

Project XCloud, New Game Streaming Platform on Microsoft Azure

Project xCloud, announced for the first time at E3 2018, will be based on Microsoft Azure streaming technology and will make games for Xbox One and Windows 10 also available on tablets and smartphones. In fact, their graphics will be processed remotely and will therefore not require particularly powerful local hardware.

Microsoft plans to launch public Project xCloud tests during the next year. Meanwhile, he released the video, which can be found below, which shows how it is possible to play famous Xbox franchises like Forza and Halo on portable devices.

With Project xCloud, therefore, we aim to extend the potential audience of the most famous brands of video games to those who do not usually use a console or an armoured PC for gaming. In these conditions, of course, the quality of the internet connection will play a decisive role in the enjoyment of the gaming experience: the images, processed by a Microsoft data centre, will be sent to the client device via the Internet.

Many companies have already experimented with cloud gaming, not always with brilliant results. OnLive was one of the precursors in this sense: its technology, after the acquisition of Sony in 2015, is the basis of the PlayStation Now service. Even Square Enix has tried to climb to cloud gaming, in 2014 with the service called Shinra. The company with Italian roots Cloudgine, moreover, worked with Microsoft for the management of Crackdown 3 on the cloud. Finally, a few days ago Google showed how it is possible to play the new Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on Chrome using the processing via cloud within the so-called Project Stream.

Project xCloud is the culmination of a multi-year work within Microsoft and will be able to take advantage of the bandwidth and latency advantages allowed by 5G connections. At the same time Microsoft is quick to point out how these efforts do not represent the end of Xbox One or PC gaming: rather, xCloud will offer players who own these platforms a way to continue their gaming experience on smartphones.

Vault is a critical feature for businesses who deal with legally sensitive documents, records, and communications. Vault allows administrators to run audits, as well as easily search across any user within their GSuite Domain.

Vault is a standard feature of the GSuite Apps package, but can also be added to existing GSuite Apps for Work users for an additional $5 per month.

GSuite business is a powerful productivity tool for modern business users. GSuiEntreprise brings all of the features of GSuite, with additional GSuite Apps Vault functionality and administrative functions.

GSuite Enterprises is perfect for larger organizations and enterprises, but even smaller operations may require the data redundancy offered by Google Vault.

Unlimited drive storage is also a key selling feature of GSuite Business and EnterorApps and maybe the deciding point for many users who see a limitation in the 30GB offered by GSuite Basic.

There’s a Whole New Google Assistant on Your Smartphone! (Photo)

Google has noticed that users do not interact with Assistant on smartphones only through voice  (as the company would like), but mostly with their own fingers, as with normal apps. So here comes a nice redesign of the Google assistant for Android and iOS, in order to make this combination voice-touch more pleasant and simple.

The new design should, in fact, combine the best of both worlds, allowing you to start everything with the voice, and then scroll images, press buttons and interact with other elements that the assistant will present, with the touch of a finger.

ALSO READ: Google at 20: Understanding Its Background, It’s Success and Failures on Some Products

We, therefore, have larger elements, which offer a better glance, and new controls to interact with these elements: you can adjust lights, volume and more with a simple touch on the corresponding slider. The same conversation with the assistant can be easily changed by pressing a finger, to add a comma to a message or to change a word that has not been correctly interpreted.

Developers and leading brands have access to new elements, such as thumbnails, enlarged images or GIFs, to enrich their content, as done by  StarbucksFood Network and FitStar.

On Android it is also easier to access the summary of your day: just open the assistant and swipe up to get personalized information based on the time and your interactions with Assistant.

Finally, Actions on Google become more appealing to developers, as they can now offer subscriptions and other paid services through in-app purchases. We speak of digital services, not physical since the latter was already available previously. Something tells us, however, that it will take some time before we see the fruits on our side.
